Tech Buzz is committed to accurate, independent technology journalism. This page describes the editorial standards, fact-checking processes, disclosure practices, and corrections policy that govern everything we publish.
Tech Buzz exists to provide accurate, independent, and deeply reported technology journalism to a technically literate audience. We cover artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, hardware, gaming, cryptocurrency, space, and science — with a commitment to accuracy, context, and editorial independence that we believe is rare in technology media.
We are a small, founder-led publication based in Melbourne, Australia. Every article published on Tech Buzz is written, edited, and fact-checked by our editorial team. We do not publish press releases as news, we do not accept payment for editorial coverage, and we do not allow advertising relationships to influence our reporting.
Every factual claim in a Tech Buzz article must be supported by at least one primary source — a peer-reviewed paper, an official company announcement, a government publication, or direct reporting from a named or verified source. We do not publish claims based solely on anonymous tips, social media posts, or secondary reporting without independent verification.
Benchmark figures, technical specifications, and performance claims must be sourced to the original test methodology. Where we conduct our own testing, we describe our methodology in sufficient detail for readers to evaluate our results. Where we cite third-party benchmarks, we link to the original source.
Quotes attributed to named individuals must be verified as accurate. We do not paraphrase quotes without clearly indicating that we have done so. We do not fabricate quotes or attribute statements to individuals who did not make them.
Tech Buzz's editorial decisions are made exclusively by our editorial team. Advertisers, sponsors, and commercial partners have no influence over our editorial coverage, story selection, or conclusions. Sponsored content — where a third party has paid for placement — is clearly labelled as "Sponsored" or "Partner Content" and is kept visually and editorially separate from our independent journalism.
We do not participate in affiliate marketing programs for products we review. We do not accept payment for positive coverage, for including specific links, or for publishing press releases as editorial content. If we ever change these policies, we will disclose the change prominently.
We correct factual errors promptly and transparently. When we correct an error in a published article, we add a correction notice at the top of the article that describes what was incorrect and what the correct information is. We do not silently edit articles to remove errors without noting the correction.
Minor corrections — spelling, grammar, formatting — may be made without a correction notice. Factual corrections — incorrect figures, misattributed quotes, inaccurate descriptions of events — always receive a correction notice with the date of correction.
If you believe we have published an error, please contact us at [email protected]. We review all correction requests and respond within 48 hours.
Tech Buzz uses AI tools in our editorial workflow in limited, disclosed ways. We use AI tools for research assistance — identifying relevant sources, summarising long documents, and checking factual claims against known information. We do not use AI tools to generate article text that is published without human review and editing.
All articles published on Tech Buzz are written by human journalists. AI tools may assist in research and fact-checking, but the reporting, analysis, and writing are human. We do not publish AI-generated content as original journalism.
We are transparent about this policy because we believe readers have a right to know how the content they read is produced. As AI tools evolve, we will update this policy to reflect our actual practices.
When we publish reporting that makes significant negative claims about an individual or organisation, we contact them before publication to give them an opportunity to respond. We include their response in the article, or note that they declined to comment or did not respond by our deadline.
We apply the same editorial standards to all subjects regardless of their size, prominence, or advertising relationship with us. We do not soften criticism of companies that advertise with us, and we do not amplify criticism of companies that do not.
We distinguish clearly between news reporting, analysis, and opinion. Opinion pieces are labelled as such and represent the views of the author, not the editorial position of Tech Buzz.
We prefer named sources over anonymous sources. When we use anonymous sources, we describe their relationship to the information they are providing in sufficient detail for readers to evaluate their credibility. We do not grant anonymity to sources who are making personal attacks on individuals.
We link to primary sources wherever possible. When we cite a study, paper, or report, we link to the original document rather than to secondary coverage of it. We use the most recent available data and note when data is from a specific date.
We are sceptical of extraordinary claims and apply proportionally higher evidentiary standards to them. A claim that a company has achieved a significant technical breakthrough requires stronger evidence than a claim about a product's price.
If you have a question about our editorial standards, want to report an error, or have a tip for our team, we want to hear from you.
